driving off road

1. being able to steer a car straight down the road on dry pavement does not mean you know how to drive.

2. buy snow tires

3. dont spin your tires. It only makes ice.

4. you can tell what your tires are doing by listening to the engine, listening to the tires, and feeling how the truck is moving. PAY ATTENTION!

5.dont forget #2,3 and 4.

6.dont make excuses about why your forgot #2, 3 and 4. Excuses will earn you the use of a shovel, and a walk back to your stuck truck

8. Having a 4 X 4 allows you to get stuck in more inaccessible places than ever before.

Bad trip Max??

Don't feel bad-- last year DH got stuck 2 times plowing the driveway?? Once he went off the edge into the ditch and tried to get out so long we had to have the wrecker come pull him out and the next time Dad came and hooked a chain onto him.

Must be a guy thing 'cause I never get stuck

Michelle

We have been working in the woods getting ready for maple sap. My wife, and 16 year old cant seem to get the truck to the woods without getting stuck.

Its quite irritating.

Mud is the main problem hereabouts. I believe in running a good mud tire year around. The Missus decided she wanted new tires. Bought the same brand but closer to snow than mud grips. Got stuck on wet grass.

Why do they put the winch on the front? When I get stuck, I want to pull out backwards and go home.

I have snows on the truck already, and it is 4x4.

THey dont now how to feel what the truck is doing. They dont know to stop spinning tires when the truck stops moving forward. They dont know how to "rock it". THey dont know how to look at the terrain, and choose the least bad path.

All they know is push the gas pedal until the truck wont go anymore.

What is so irritating is I have been trying to explain these things top them for 15 years. THey dont care. If it isnt shoping, or playing video games, they dont want to learn anything about it.
