greenhouse kits

I am thinking of getting a small greenhouse. I know I could make one with pvc and plastic, but I think I would like something prefab and more sturdy. Does anyonone have any experience with the various kits.? My budget could go as high as $1500. I live in Northern lower Michigan. I would use it to get plants started in the spring, but if plants could be kept year round that would definitely be a plus. Thanks LJ

I was searching for a wheatherproof material for a greenhouse roof I'm considering and found polcarbonate, not kits but can be ordered in pre cut lengths. This company (sundancesupply.com) has a minimum order of $700 plus shipping and fasteners.
Check it out if you wish, may work.

Have you checked out FarmTek? We purchased a LARGE GH from them several years ago and have been very satisfied. You won't be able to buy a complete GH at those prices but they have lots of parts and plastic available. Just as a note - my first GH was one of those glass lean to kind we purchased for $100 with the understanding we would take it down. Worked out well except it was really hard to keep below 100F in the summer.

Try checking out TurnerGreenhouses. They are in NC. They offer both plastic and fiberglass coverings. Depending on the size you want they have a lot to offer in your price range. I have one of their fiberglass models and am very pleased with it. Went together easily which some don't. The first couple of years I insulated it for winter with bubble wrap inside. Then I read about using a clear solar pool cover over the outside and that has worked out wonderfully well and saved me a lot in heating bills. Over on the GardenWeb greenhouse forum a lot of members have the Harbor Freght Greenhouse. They buy them from CostCo I believe and even the largest model is well under $1,000 .
There are some tricks to assembling them with any ease but they have the whole thing well documented with pictures and directions snet in by lots of members. I wish you luck finding your dream greenhouse. I have had many years of enjoyment from owning several of them.
