Goosed!!

Watch out it is Spring! We have Bonnie & Clyde 2 Sebastapol geese on our place. Have had these 2 for years. In the spring Clyde get protective of his mate but he is usally just noisy not a biter. Well yesterday I waved my hand at him to get him to go away (he didn't want me near the nest) Well he latched onto my little finger.........can you say "OWWIE" Well down to the hospital I work at for stitches. I now have one very sore finger! But the part that really hurts........I lost two BONUS shifts at the hospital. (thats time and 1/2 plus a $ 6.50 per hour bonus pay for hard to fill shifts) They won't let me work with stiches in my hands So watch out for Spring and don't get yourselves goosed!! It hurts!

My ganders are getting fractious too. They have not bitten me yet but they try hard to chase me away. I am looking forward to gathering eggs. I already have orders for fertile eggs. I sprinkle a trail of bread crumbs to the other side of the barn and then steal the eggs while they fight over the treat. Hey its almost spring!!
