Mum Seeds

I would like to grow mums to sell this fall along with a few pumpkins. I cannot find mum seeds anywhere. I have looked in all the well know seed catalogs and I've come up with zilch. Are they grown from seed or maybe a bulb?

Have you tried searching under "chrysanthemum" instead of "mum"? That should bring up some seed sources.

Mums can be grown from cuttings. When I was 7-8 years old I talked my mom into ordering me mum plants from Michigan Bulb. I saved up my allowance for a month to pay for them. I pinched off the new growth until July 4 and placed the cuttings in water until they rooted. I sold all my aunts and uncles the slips. The plants bloomed in the fall. Now I am a market gardener LOL

mums

Mommagoose is correct. Mums are grown from cuttings.
And, they are no longer "chrysanthemums" but have graduated to a different Latin name, which I have forgotten...
