5th annual buffalo river campout???

I know this is really later than normal, but I've not been on line much, since my puter died, the subaru got totaled{by a deer}, and now I have the flu and am off work for a few days, staying with my nephew and his lady in Fayetteville....
SO, is ANYONE interested in trying to do this??? I know that the economy isn't doing very well...anyhoo, I just thought I would try this, and see if anyone is interested....Not sure when would be a good weekend to have this....any ideas??? Just for information, Baker Creek is the weekend of may the 3rd, and I plan on going to that....since I missed it last year...

I would really love to be able to make it this year - we've finally got a reliable vehicle, and would love to attend. The weekend after Baker Creek is getting me into finals, but the week before (April 25-27) is wide open for us . . .

How about the last weekend in May or the 1st. Weekend in June ? Since we're getting a late start this year?

LaDonna I'll be a better help this time...if you need me

Works for me, too. I'll gladly help organize if it's needed, we can probably come down mid-day on Friday.

Edited to note: Oops...I posted under Husband's name again...

I was wondering if in the spirit of fairness if we couldn't run a pole for a set number of days (week, month?) and just go with the weekend that gets the most votes?

Cat -- once we get some more details worked out, I was going to start a list of who's coming, who's offering to demos and such, and maybe what's for dinner...if you could help me keep in on the newest page by using the Quote button to move it and update -- that would be great

It will be wonderful to get to see you, Tana, Lesley, Dave & Tina and Ladonna... it's been way too long.

Hugs,
Marlene

No problem! As I mentioned, I'm open for almost any weekend except the one after Baker Creek (May 9-11) because of finals.

ETA: Eric has volunteered tentatively to do a flint & steel firemaking demo (and I didn't even have to browbeat him very much ) I've started playing with needle felting & would be happy to bring my kit with to demo/teach with.

That's great Cat -- and it's two things I haven't learned to do yet

I'd be willing to share my new found quilting knowledge if there is anyone who is interested.

I'm still waiting on LaDonna to get back to us on the idea of a poll so we can pick a date...maybe I should check out how to actually do a poll...

Don't know about the other okies but too me it seems like once the weather warms up in the spring, I stay busy up till about the middle of July before I start getting any free weekends. That's one reason why I didn't respond to the Okie get together, you all were talking like April or May which is my busiest months for Electrical work, gardening, and trying to fill the freezer with fish.

The poll might be interesting, unless you can make multiple selection - i.e., these weekends work or don't work for me. Some folks may have multiple times they can't be there, others may have multiple times they can be there. Since I haven't set one up before, I'm not sure if that's an option.

Okay - some with knowledge with how to actually post a poll please help. I found the option for posting a poll - clicked on the yes box, set the number of options...what's the next step?

I'm going to include the dates of May16th-18th -- but please be aware Husband already has those dates marked on our calender for another event so if that is the dates picked for the campout I won't be able to make it.

We'll also need to decide which campsite on the Buffalo River we wish to have our get together.

Will check in later to see if anyone has left a how to post a poll message for me.

A dear friend PM'd me with the helpful hind of clicking on New Thread, then at the bottom of that screen is an include a poll button - click on that... didn't work. Think I'll go find a thread with a poll and ask whomever started it how it's done.

My head is not thinking June 6-8th but I'm still flexible

Hugs,
Marlene
