I'm not sure where to post this. This is a link to several still photos of an animal control officer releasing a bear. Keep scrolling down to see all the pictures. http://bestpicsaround.com/pic-944-ho...release-a-bear

Goodness !!! I wonder who was taking the pics?! Probably happened too fast for whoever it was to help in those few moments I guess. Hopefully the guy was alright....though I imagine he had to change his underwear. Yikes!!!

Hay - take a look in the truck - looks like his buddy didn't even open the door or move. Good guy to cover your back!

I received those in an email not long ago. Looks like they left out the results...The poor guy got his leg bit pretty good.

OUCH!

I once took photos of a deer release (still have some of them around somewhere). The Game and Wildlife personnel told me to stay way back for safety as the deer would be agitated when they came out of the cages.

LOL...I got some great shots of them pulling the deer out by their back legs. Those deer were so scared they didn't want to come out of the crates! After pulling them out, they stood around looking dazed for several minutes. Once they realized they were free every one of them was gone in a flash. They didn't want anything to do with us humans.

Looks like there would be a better way to release a bear!

Here's another
to the same set of photos EXCEPT this on has two additional pics at the end of the slide show.

End result -- the bear was euthanized / killed.

I think the attack was caused in part by poor placement of the truck on that bridge. The bear really didn't have anywhere else to go. Had the backed the truck up a bit farther the disaster could have been avoided.

Was it this guys first day on the job or something? He certainly wasn't experienced in releasing bears back into the wild. Standing on top of the cage wasn't very bright. The man should of had the cage door rigged so he could release the bear safely from inside the truck. I've seen a similar video on YouTube of the release of a big cat from a cage in the back of a truck with bad results.

Did anyone click on the next set of pics? I can't imagine why anyone would think it's ok to be in the middle of these apparently wild bears. http://bestpicsaround.com/pic-945-Bears-in-the-Backyard

That happened about 10 years ago in northwestern MT. This was going to be the last bear the warden would release as he was retiring that month. He ended up shoot the grizzly multiple times with his handgun while it was attacking him.

Things like that are why bears become major problems and end up attacking people and end up having to be shot.

The bear had to be euthanized? Oh, no! I feel terrible about that. After all, it was really only acting in self-defense. It felt the man had done terrible to him by putting him in a cage and it was going to get back at the man. I am also sorry the man's leg was injured, but at least he survived. Poor bear.

I can't believe the wardens didn't fasten the cage down at the back. But yes, a bear died because of human errors.
