Question Anybody out there?

We wanted to know if there was anyone that lived in the western North Carolina area. We are in Lincoln County and seldom run across people with similar interest. If anybody is local let us know.

Well, I'm not in Western NC, but I do have some aquaintences up that way. I'm in the southern/central part of NC. I'm an hour east of Charlotte. Welcome to the boards! There are other people from NC on the forum, it just may take them a little while to post!

We just moved to NC, but we're South of Charlotte, down near the SC border. Howdy neighbor!

There are some of us out here..I am a deep WNC mountain native (1730's) but recently gave it up to move to the foothills. Too darn cold and too darn expensive. All my family is still in Swain (mother in McDowell) and I go back whenever I can. I still have hopes of being able to return someday..maybe when DS graduates from school in 12 years we can go back... I miss it with an ache...but mostly in the summer

We lived in Vale in Lincoln County when we got married. Moved to Conover. Then back to Lincoln Co near Maiden. We're now in Caldwell Co near Blowing Rock.

I love NC. DD & her DH have a great furniture store & factory in Blairsville, GA (Rountree's) & when we visit we always go to Murphy, NC to dinner. (Doyle's) Would love to visit the Lake Norman area.

We're just over the hill in East TN. I'll be over in NC March 8 for the 15th annual Organic Growers School Spring Conference at Old Fort. Anyone else going?

We're just over the hill the other way, in SC. I can see NC from my property when the leaves are off the trees.

Swain County, just outside Bryson City. Bees, shiitake mushrooms and vegetable farm. I don't get to the computer much, as I don't have Internet at home anymore, just at an office in town.
