Dehumidifier Recommendation

Hello, hope everyone is wintering well! I am thinking about buying a dehumidifier for the basement. Anyone have a recommendation? Thank you.

If possible I would suggest ventilation rather than a dehumidifier. It is much less expensive to run a fan or simply setup a chimney stack.

Cheers

well ive got a kenmore in the basement works great. i think it was bought at sears. only problem is that it seems to fill up fast when its real humid but other than that its great it really does help. i think i usually empty it once a day. also when i hang clothes down there they dry alot faster.:banana02:

I put one in the cellar and it was a PITA emptying it. So I built a rack up against the joists in the air. Ran a drain plug out through the wall and now it just turns on and runs when it needs to, shuts off when I don't need it. Works like a charm. I really recommend doing it so you don't have to empty it. You can buy a small pump to pump it out also if you can't drain to the outside. It has a little ball valve and float and will pump the water out when full. You can get them at Home Depot.
