You couldn't remember how to load down the bandwidth with bloated pictures? That was a good thing.

Posting a link to a picture is good-mannered. Posting the picture is... uhmm... the opposite, for reasons that should now be obvious; particularly when you're posting on a board where many of the members are rural, and on slow dial-up connections, often paying by volume for downloads.

wogglebug- if you are concerned about bandwidth and your ability to access photos please feel free to avoid all threads with photos. I will try to list that I have posted a photo to help and I am sure others will continue to do so as well.

Regarding the floor. When we poured our slab it was below zero and they added calcium or some such to the mix which caused it to set up before we could finish it. Left us with an coarse looking floor not suitable for the tile I wanted.

Soooo...I waited a few months for the floor to season and then went over the entire floor with a hamer and chisel to take off the worst of the bumps (mainly around the edges). Then I scrubbed it up good and dryed it well. Next I gave it two good coats of good primer made for concrete stuff. Then I painted the entire floor with gray floor paint (satin finish). Next I taped of the design (using the gray as the grout or cement between my bricks) I used green masking tape which i cut with a razor blade to be about 3/8 inch thick (but let it wander some). Once taped off I came back with the terracotta color (darker) and using a little roller applied that to the floor in a section. Then I took a lighter terracotta color and dripped some on the floor and used the same little roller to smush it around and blend it in. When the floor was no longer sticky i pulled up all of the tape. I let it dry several hours with a fan blowing on it and then gave it two coats of polycrylic water based stuff and there you have it.

The one I covered up with this new color had been down 5 years and still was working great in spite of the sand, mud , water, snow, fireplace ash, soda and tea we all got all over it all the time. sis

Thanks for the info!! You have inspired me. I think the fact that you started with a bit of a rough surface actually is what makes it look like real brick. I'm going to try it in our bathroom at our camp. Hope it works on the plywood.

Ooooo plywood. It works great on plywood. I did one on plywood once that made it look like oak plank flooring but using a rubber patterned thingy i got at Ace hardware...looked beautiful! good luck and post a photo when you finish.

Folks on slow dial up, should be polite and block photo's with their browsers.

Actually, it has nothing to do with being polite really. In your own interest if you are on dial up, the best policy is to turn off photo's.
