I almost ordered one to pull posts out of frozen ground. But I tried to pull a post with a short loop of chain and a handyman jack. It came right up, along with a foot of frozen soil stuck to the post. Then we pulled 40 more.

Yup. The handyman jack works just as good (better it some cases), and I already have that. For the REALLY stubborn ones, International Harvestor pulls them right out.....

Cool. My friend made one out of an old jack and a length of chain with hooks at the end. Drop the jack to the ground, slip a loop of chain around the t post and it grabs the teeth as you jack the post up. Mahvelous invention. I think i'll keep this commercially produced one out of his sight, might hurt his feelings :-)

The chain with handyman jack is little unweildy. I welded up little triangle thing out of some rebar scraps and it holds onto handyman jack with bolt when I need it. Lot easier to use than chain and didnt cost anything.

Make or buy one of these devices instead of using chain for better results.
