is this the japanese method where they grow them in a form? incredible to think they did this for shipping and storage.

There was a news blurb on one of the network news sites a year or so ago about these. They are growing them in Japan to fit easily in the tiny fridges that are prevalent over there. They were selling for an average of $82 each. I think I could grow some for those prices.

why? somebody obviously has way too much time on their hands. Watermelons are naturally shaped. This is like trying to tell me that square hamburgers are made fresh and never frozen. Don't you believe it!
