I have an old B8200HST that I believe is an 84. At one time it was used as a rental tractor. I knew the history, have the upkeep paperwork, & prior 2 owners so felt comfortable buying it..
It's still running strong & I'd recommend a Kubota to anyone.

Is it 4wd? Prices vary by region, but if its in very good condition and is 4wd, thats an average price. I wouldnt say it was a good deal, but that is an average price. Personally, if I was going to spend that money, Id get a bit larger tractor with the front end loader. Ive never been a fan of those tiny lawn mower size tractors with front end loaders. Ive seen quite a few that were basically boken in half due to the massive wear the FEL puts on the small front end of those things. But, if you take care of it and do not over do it, they can last. Id prefer something the size of at least the L2900 which can be had for about the same price with the FEL. But, thats just for my needs. You may require the smaller tractor.

My resident farm equipment salesman says it sounds like a good deal. He said around here good used compact tractors are scarce.

I used one for a while, and even though it was useful for some things, I wouldnt buy one.
The front end loader was fine unless you really wanted to do some work with it. You couldnt fill it up with dirt without overloading the tractor, and it was easy to get it stuck even in 4WD.
If you want a big lawnmower and a LIGHT duty FEL, it will be fine.
Id go with something bigger for serious work though.
The best thing about it is that it would run all day on one tank of fuel, and it only holds a couple of gallons.

I started out with the same tractor, only without the belly mower and no hydrostatic clutch. I bought mine new in 2003. I traded it in for the 30 hp model for two reasons. 1) I needed to be able to pick up round bales with the FEL rather than using the 3pt hitch, and while it would get them off the ground so that I could move them around, it did not have the power to lift them more than a couple feet. 2) I did not like the amount of plastic on the smaller model. I had no complaints with it though, and do not consider my problems to be the tractors fault, but rather my inexperience with tractor requirements. I would redcommend Kubota to anyone though. I have had nothing but strong running with both of mine. My neighbors are actually a little jealous because I can do the small jobs that they can't, but still do the bigger jos as well. With that said, tractors are like boats, no matter what you have, you can always find a reason to want the next bigger model.

My DW is logged in so I am posting under her name.
We searched for almost six months before making a decision. I looked at all the colors and decided on the Kubota. There are not many used ones that do not carry the price of near the new ones and I think that is a good testament to the Kubota tractor.
Then when it came time to buy, I looked at the B series and then took the advice of many people more experienced than me with what I would end up wanting later on. I thought we did not need that much tractor for 11.5 acres but I still went larger and bought the L2900 4WD, FEL, shredder and BB package and financed the $14K price tag for three years. It is payed off now and we have bought 25 more acres since then. Am I so glad that I listened and went bigger. After 3-1/2 years, I still love my L. Bigger tires, 4WD, more power, no belly mower to fiddle with having to take off.
It depends on what you want but down here in Texas, you can get that B tractor with a 3-year warranty new for about $2K more and finance it at a lower interest rate because new equipment loans are lower interest and easier to get than loans on used anything.
I added the quick hitch that made the 3-point sooooo much easier to work with. Back up, snap up, drop the top link......done. We have also added a TS posthole digger, subsoiler, Kuhn tiller, KK landscape rake, tool bar, hippers and cultivators. I looooove digging in dirt.
Happy tractoring,
Chuckhole.

I don't know this particular model, but Kubota's are great tractors. I love mine. 4x4 and a loader are great options. As pointed out above, you might try checking with a dealer on a new one, as it might not be much more than the used one...plus you can get 0% financing for three years. Best wishes in whatever you choose to do.
