question about donations

We are finally starting to get a bit ahead financially and have started making a few donations to what we consider important causes.

My question is, is there a way one can have funds automatically withdrawn for these donations.. say per monthly from a paycheck? Makes it a lot simpler and I wouldn't forget to do it.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will set up an auto draft or monthy charge to your credit/debit card.

I highly recommend them. If you've read Cole's threads for the last 14 months, you know what a blessing St. Jude has been to my family.

Hi PC ;
I have an automatic withdraw/donation to Feed The Children. Comes out of the account automatically. Many chairites do this if you sign up online.

I'm trying to think of a charity that won't set up automatic withdrawal..!!! Whenever I get the mailers, they do everying short of beating me with a stick to try to convince me to go on the monthly automatic...

Seriously, you are a dream donor for pretty much any charity. They love to have a regular, monthly cashflow they can count on. Take your time and pick the ones that really mean something to you and I am sure they will accomodate. Good on ya...

thanks for the heads up folks. We've already chosen our charities.

I think I probably ask my question wrong. What I was wanting to know is if there is a way to do automatic withdrawal from a paycheck (kinda like they do with health insurance). That way I never have to worry if the money is in my account, I'll know they're getting it.

I expect it would depend a bit upon your employer, but I do know that United Way works with most employers to do so. I expect you may simply need to speak with your payroll agent and then the charity to get the needed information to them.

You are to be commended for such action with looming recession/depression facing us.

thanks. This is the first time we've had extra, and there are so many things we are concerned with that are going on in the world right now.

We've been living hard times all our lives so, I figure, since we're a bit ahead now, we should help out where we can. We've made it too far not to weather anything coming our way.
