Wood Boiler Problem

I have a Royall indoor wood boiler. It was here when we moved in. I was changing a fire brick today and noticed that the metal under the brick was rusted thru. Is this weldable? Has anyone else had this happen?

is it a boiler? I would have thought the water all over the floor would have been the 1st indication that the boiler was rusted thru.

Indoor forced hot air furnace?

Without seeing it, I would say yes. My father has welded his 30 year old forced hot air furnace twice now. Anyone with a migwelder and reasonable welding skills can handle that.

If it is a wood boiler, get a pro to do it.

Sounds like it's just the sheet metal underneath the firebricks, which should be weld-able. But when in doubt, ask the manufacturer. They are at 1-800-571-7002 or write them at rsd@wdheat.com
