BBQ grill

I just replaced the pressure tank for the well. The 80 gal tank had a small hole rusted in the bottom and it now begs to be made into something useful. Since it is an old galvanized tank, I don't think it has a bladder inside, it was just an air charge. Can I cut it, paint it with heat resistant black paint, and convert it into a BBQ grill? My main concern would be what the heat would do to the galvanized metal (under the new paint) and if it would be safe for grilling.
Thanks

Folks use them All the time down this way. Just burn A few HOT fires in them 1st. That should help. I have had grills made from Hot water tanks too. And the So called Experts say not to use them.. There is A coating you can get to convert the Galivized to A inernt metal I beleive, You might need to ask..

I made an 80 gallon chicken waterer out of one. I sealed the rust holes up with weld, replaced the lower drain plug with a street ell, screwed a pipe plug in the street ell while filling it, then tightened the big plug on top that I filled from. Then I put a bowl under the street ell and removed that plug. The water filled the bowl and stopped coming out when the ell went underwater. Later I found a 2" ball valve and made it much easier for DW to fill it. We've been using it for 7 years now.
