Backwoods Home--explanation, please

Can someone please explain how BH recently became the sponsor of this forum? I'm not complaining, just wondering.
Does this change any of the rules, mods, etc?
I subscribe to BH and think it could be a good move, but don't know how involved they are, or is it just that they help to finance it through sponsorship.
Thanks.
Ann

I doubt it's misinformation; maybe just a small sponsorship to get some advertising.

This question should have been posted in admin. You'd get a quicker answer there.

There is a current offer for HT members to get a 1-year discount on Backwoods Home magazine. I forget which thread the info came out in, but I would think the sponsorship is simply a bit of advertising.

More power to 'em.

Forums like this aren't free, and if the HT guys can garner a little support from an advertiser that has a product of use to homesteaders (which BWH mag certainly is), IMNSHO, it's a good thing.

Jolly is correct. BWH Magazine is paritally supporting the costs of running this forum. Other means of support include your donations and the Google ads.

The Backwoods Home link causes the surf filter at work to flag me as a slacker. No surfing to HT while at work now.

I have been a member of the BWH forum and subscriber for a long time. There is a lot of great information there.

I like the magazine but the forum over there is a mess. Hopefully we won't we breaking this forum down into a bazillion different boards like BWH has. It used to be a much better forum.
