Welcome to HT John! I'm pretty new myself (just joined in August), but I know you'll like it here, lots of good folks with lots of knowledge to share. Will your wife be posting too? There's plenty here to interest you both!

You might consider going to Countryside Families and posting a longer introduction there (if you want) and to add your location to your profile. People tend to get a little cranky if you ask for specific advice and they can't tell where you're planning to use the knowledge you're asking for. Don't let that scare you off, however, lol. Hope to see you around!

Welcome, johncrone, to HT and Texas, as someone above stated. I'm in Fort Worth, will be moving to East Texas and our little 16-acre farm. Use to live in Austin ... LOVE IT and ALL the hill country. My son and his family live just north of Austin in a little community called Leander. Good luck in all your endeavors!

Peace and Smiles,
doohap
