I find that anything without cow crap on it is good enough for going out on the town.

I'm kinda partial to those shoes Pee Wee Herman wore when he danced to "Tequila" at the biker's bar.

I have several pair of Ariat boots, they are great for walking, they have a cushioned innersole (like a good pair of walking shoes do). You can walk for miles in them!!

The boots I wear around the farm and in the wilderness are Cabela's Outfitter Series boots. They're insulated which doesn't work too well in the summer but works great in the winter. I've been wearing them pretty constantly from about September to May every year for three years and they're still in great shape, despite some rather hard use. They have a thick Goodyear sole on them which grips very well and they're high enough so that when I tuck my pants into them the snow doesn't get in. They're also tall and loose enough at the top that you can tuck a small boot knife away, should you be of the defensive mindset. They're comfortable enough to dance "Tequila" anywhere I should end up going, should I have a mind to do so.

They aren't a pair of Nocona's though and they just scream "hillbilly" when you wear them out and about. I pull my pants leg down over them for special occasions, tuck my jeans into them for the rest of the time. They don't exactly bring the ladies running though, if that's what you're after.

These are the exact boots that I have been wearing for the past six years or so. I wear these boots everyday to work and on weekends. I am on my second pair and now that I see they are on sale, I am ordering my third pair. I wear mine all summer long, even with shorts.

Well my DH got himself a pair of Ariats and just loves them. He was comfortable with them from day one they didn't need to be broke in.

So he got the pair our DD has wanted for the last 2 years for her christmas, They are Lime Green Fat Babies. She has worn them everyday since she got them and been very comfortable.

Ariats have the best inovative soles on the market. They are very good for walking or riding and seem to be just as durable as most of the other brands.

sewtlm, the heavy crepe soles on some ariat boots are not intended for riding and can be quite dangerous if you don't switch to extra wide stirrups. I have a few pairs of fatbabies myself but they tend to be more of a dress boot than a riding boot and were designed for the halter classes not for riding events.

I know about fat babies, But when you have feet her size you get what fits. I had to put roping stirrups on her saddle anyhow.

DH are the classics and his are wides so his saddle has roping stirrups too. His regular boot size is the same width as her Fat Babies.

I get the leftovers from DD last shoe size which were cheapies anyway and boy can I tell it. I finally took my Old Justins In to be stretched just a little which I hope it helps.

DD says her Ariat boots are comfortable but not as durable as she would like. They are Chinese made. If that makes a difference to you, TonyLama is still made in USA.
