dummy on board.

I was told a lot of people are buying these dummies, usually a male dummy to put in you car so it seams you are driving with another guy. I read an article about this lady her husband is in Iraq and she drove with this guy around and even her sister asked her who was the nice looking guy with her. I am planing to get one because I leave my house at 4:00 am every day but I don't know if this will help please share your opinion...

Sorta realted..but funny. In VA they use the inflatable cops on the highways to deter speeding. They just put the blow up trooper in the car by the side of the road! Well, one deflated and slumped over the steering wheel.. that produced a lot of calls and a major panic by the cops!! Tee Hee..officer down... snort, giggle

Why exactly are you wanting to do this? In most states this is highly illegal. Check with your local law enforcement before you do this, please!

I think a lot of people were using them to make it look like they were car pooling a few years back... anyone remember that?

You probably think she's trying to use the carpool lane. I don't think that's her intent.

I'm in North Carolina, and last I heard, it was illegal for anyone, regardless of intent, to drive with a dummy sitting up in a seat. I don't know if the law was made to combat carpool cheaters or for the saftey of law enforcement (if they pull you, it looks like there are two people in the car, and it makes the cops more wary). My fiance is the one who knows more about it though. I'll try to get him to post later on tonight.

I've worked with teenagers for years and have had many of them ride with me.

I've never been busted for illegal hauling of dummies.

deception.

It's not illegal to drive around with a dummy, it's IS illegal to use the "carpool" lane (a lane reserved for 2 or more people in a vehicle in some big cities) without having 2 REAL people in the car.

I don't get it either? Do you bring the dummy into the restaurant with you when you stop for lunch?

What happens when you get to work in the morning, do you force the dummy to sit in the hot car all day? Pull off to the side of the road and deflate him then stuff him in the trunk before you pull into the office parking lot?

Make sure you do a better job of it than this guy did...

Trooper Catches Man In HOV Lane With Dummy As Passenger

POSTED: 12:58 pm PST November 30, 2007
UPDATED: 5:28 pm PST November 30, 2007

KENT, Wash. -- A state trooper working high occupancy vehicle enforcement pulled over a man with a dummy in his car who had been driving in the HOV lane on Nov. 22.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the trooper was heading northbound on Interstate 5 near state Route 516 when he noticed a black 2005 Scion pass him in the HOV lane. While the driver appeared to look normal, the officer said the passenger didn’t look quite real.

The officer stopped the car. In the passenger seat was the pale head of a mannequin stuffed in a sweatshirt and wearing a hat. The usually white, Styrofoam head had been painted beige to give it a more lifelike appearance. On the head was a baseball hat tilted toward the driver.

The driver, a 27-year-old man from Olalla, Wash. simply shrugged his shoulders when questioned about the propped up mannequin.

The driver was cited for an HOV violation after being reminded by the officer that the requirement to drive in the HOV lane is at least two humans inside a vehicle.

I'll take one if you can assure me he doesn't chew tobacco, leave mud in my kitchen, change the channel I'm watching or put sick pigs in my bathroom. But then, he probably can't make me smile the way pigman can!
