Deicer

A few weeks back someone posted using a high potassium fertilizer for sidewalk deicer. Did I remember correctly? Going to the mill tomorrow and will probably pick up a bag.

With the prices of Fertilizer being what they are. it might be cheaper to use one of those environment friendly deicers.

Either potassium chloride or calcium chloride would work....and both are more environmentally-friendly than sodium chloride.

Didn't make it to the mill today. I've used all the commercial deicers and they all work well. Some still burn the grass if used in heavy amounts. I thought I'd try the ammonium nitrate or high potassium? fertilizer. It's actually less expensive and if it feeds the grass come spring , so much the better.
