$30 amazon.com gift certificate... what do I get?

So I have $30 to "invest" in a few homesteading books. I currently have NONE! I used to live near a great library.

So my two initial ideas:
1. Cold-Climate Gardening: How to Extend Your Growing Season by at Least 30 Days

2. Five Acres and Independence by Maurice G. Kains

Any of you recommend something different or better?

Storey's basic country skills, Not very indepth, but definitely a great resource or starting point for just about any project.

First on the list for me would be Carla Emery's Encyclopedia of Country Living - if I didn't already have it.

I would get Four Season Harvest (Elliot Coleman) and The Self Sufficient life and how to live it (John Seamore) Those are the books that I go back to over and over not just for info, but for fresh inspiration.

Any living fugally like How to Survive without a Salary by Charles Long.
Then you could spend the money you would normally use for life on more books.

Especially if your place already has a storm/root cellar, I recommend Root Cellaring by Bubel.

The cool thing about Amazon, I think is the opinions posted.

Sell the GC on ebay...I bet it will bring almost the $30.

Then take the cash, and buy the same books on abe.com for alot less.

Doesn't appear that abe.com carries any of the suggested books...
