Question Iron-on patch - how long, how hot?

In a moment of relative creativity I decided to make a Dumbo the elephant top for my Mum. So now I have the patch and a 100% cotton shirt, the patch has no instructions though. How hot does the iron need to be and for how long? I only have the one patch so I don't want to mess it up.
Any help is appreciated. In the mean time I'll go hunt down the iron.

I turn the iron on high. When hot, just apply to patch for a couple of seconds. Doesn't take much to activate adhesive.

Wash the shirt first with NO fabric softeners.

Press the iron down for a count of 20, lift and reapply. repeat till whole transfer is covered.

Thanks! You guys are great. I still can't find the iron, not sure I posess one. Going to have to borrow my sister-in-laws.
Have a great Holiday!
