New to the forum

Good Evening;
I am a single lady in her 30's who's just discovered a new way of living.
I would like to be as self reliant as possible..
Can the self reliance and modern world exist in the same house??
I am hoping to build or have a log cabin by the time I am 40.
Does anyone have a blog?
I just found the blog world and enjoy reading them.
Hope to hear from new friends.

PS.I live in the midwest(Chicago burbs)

Good evening, CD72. Welcome to the madness, I mean forum. Glad to have you.
If you look at quite a few of the signature areas of the members, you will see blog links. Also, if you do a search of blogs on the forum search you will probably find thread with blog links as well.
And to answer your question about modern self reliance.. absolutey. Many here are much more self reliant than I and can answer that more readily.
Again, welcome

Welcome to the forum. All the folks on here have connections with the modern world and being as self sufficient as possible. We all must have computers and connections to the internet or we wouldn't be here, would we. Be as self sufficient as you feel comfortable with. Again welcome!

Welcome! I'm sure you'll find a lot of information here! Not only can self-reliance and the modern world co-exist, it can all happen in urban areas too. Several people here live in cities and are "urban homesteaders". I live in the suburbs of Phoenix and have discovered many self-reliance skills are equally valuable in "the big city"

Welcome! Being self reliant for most of us doesn't exclude the modern world entirely, just limits our dependence on it. This is a good place to visit and learn.

They surely can! There are many, many levels to self-reliance.

I am not far from you, about ninety miles west of Chicago in rural Ogle County.

Welcome to the boards, although I am fairly new to this board, as well.

G'Day!
Hope you're prepared to put an hour, or two, aside each day to read all the info that will be made available to you from the folk here.
Do you have any particular interests or hobbies that you'd like to be involved in? You might be surprised to learn that you probably know more than you think you do at the moment, and will also want to become a contributer by and by.
