Loom question....

I have 4 homemade looms. They are the kind that are square with a peg about every 1/2" or so, along the sides (all 4 sides). Any one remember how to use them? I haven't used one since I was about 10 and can't remember how! Thanks!

One way,
If they are the "pot holder" type,
1) need cloth "loops" so as they fit from side to side on opposing pegs.
2)string as many "loops" as you have peg pairs, between 2 opposing sides
3) string the other two sides, but weaving in and out (over/under) loops, of the first set.
4)start in one corner, pull one loop end off and hook into next loop end, then that one hooks into next one, continue all the way around, till only one loop left, tie off.

Bigger looms can be used with the same principle, the loops are twisted cloth or yarn.
P.S. My grand mother had some room size looms, don't know what ever happened to them, she made "Rag rugs" on them.

yeah, I remeber the "pot holder" type, but one of these is 20" square! I seem to remember Dad using one long piece of twine, but can't remember how he did it.....
