Merry Christmas Greetings

To all my Liberal friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To all my Republican and Libertarian friends:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Austin - NEVER go to the place unless under severe duress.

Live in the good and very Conservative Hill Country (no please don't confuse Austin with the Hill Country. Actually I live in the Kerrville area.

Oh trust me I know! I moved from Austin about 2 years ago (Thank God!) I was just joking Your original post sounded like I was back in Austin where even saying "Happy Holidays" was frowned upon in case you offended someone in hearing range I was reprimanded at an old job for saying Merry Christmas to a coworker and another coworker complained that I had offended her by mentioning THAT WORD! It was a temp job thank goodness....

We are so conservative in this area that the Democratic party can hold their county convention in someones living room. MY KIND OF PLACE - never having to say you are sorry for having Conservative views.

Well, I'm as liberal as can be and found it hilarious. Thanks for sharing it. Stephanie, sounds as if you ran into some folks who've lost the joy of Christmas. How sad for them.
