Hmmm... wonder what the per diem would be on a 'house call' that far away...

oh well...

if GOOD handymen are as scarce in Iowa as they are here in Cali, then per diem might be a bargain.

audubon county is 1/2 way between Des Moines and Omaha

Wrong side of the state, I'm sorry.

Paul's been a professional handyman for over 20 years. He's fair, honest and does good work. His tag line is, "Anything your husband won't do!"

look in your phone book or local newspaper for small contractors (construction companies) I have friends that are small in size, but do as good as the big guys when it comes to fixing and building

what do you need done?
can you hire a high school kid - contact the high school shop teacher and find out if someone can do what you need, heck the teacher just might be your guy/gal too... I know ours does odd jobs, electrical and construction

I have never met this guy, but I love his website!
I built a site for my sister (she is a handywoman in MI)
His website became my inspiration.
I was looking around for ideas, found his site, and thought it was the perfect example
of getting the information accross as simply as possible.

Dave, contact some churches in the area and ask them if they know of any - that's how I found a good roofer and also a drywall man. If you need me to do any searching for you, let me know in a PM.

Hi..the best handymen we've found in se Iowa have been guys who work for farmers during planting and combining. The rest of the year their time opens up. They have been a great source for help here.

We also had a retired carpenter build our cabinets and a couple of other little things. Great job. The only stipulation was that he was going to "take his time". We thought he got it done as fast as anyone else making them.

Word of mouth helps..good luck!
