I just bought a hd tv a few months ago. I am on antenna and get about 8 different channels. With the new hd tv I get quite a few more channels. Where I used to get one channel I now get 3 or 4 different stations.
For example on channel 3 which I used to get, I now get 3, 3-001, 3-002, and 3-003. Almost all of the channels are that way. Channel 29 has even more channels.

here is some info about the digital tv conversion occuring on Feb 17th 2009.

The company I work for (event marketing) has a tour going out on the road on Tuesday fore the next year that will be educating the consumer about digital TV.

No I am using the same antenna I was using before. It is not anything new, just a regular old antenna. I would guess I am from 20-50 miles from the transmitters. We don't have much in the way like mountains or hills. I still have another regular tv hooked to the same antenna.

It came as a surprize to me when I was going through the channels to see the extra stations. The main channel is the regular tv, the 001 is the hd tv, 002 is a weather channel, 004 can be one of several other things, one is a cooking channel, one is a music video channel, some are just completely different stations.
