Is this a good deal?

Used Treated lumber: (3) 2x8x11', (12) 2x8x7', (10) cedar bds 1x6x11', (6) cedar 1x6x14' for $50.00 or bo. Is that a good deal? This was in my elec coop newsletter. There is also an ad for 12 free wood pallets. Add those to what I already have, and I'm thinking I could have a nice little building. Any input?

Read this thread...

FREE WOOD! Everyone can get it!

I have had no trouble getting used wood free. Check your local dump or garbage transfer station, for one source. Contractors haul it there a lot.

I have also seen a lot of ads for it on freecycle.org. Check there for your area.

If the wood is any good at all it is a good deal. I am building a plant room now, using cedar for the inside. Just the cedar boards will cost more than the $50. But if you don't have a purpose for them no price is good.

If they are decent solid boards it's too good to pass up. Try offering $40 first.

I've got so much free wood in my hayloft, I twisted my ankle getting over the pile to get some hay the other evening! LOL. Someday I'm gonna use all this stuff I have around here...
