Over a foot of Rain Finially!

It's been pouring since Sunday morning, pouring every day. Our ground was hard and cracked before this started. I am hoping at least half went down into the ground with this. Still raining today, and into the next few days, but not pouring like we had. Louisville had record of almost 9 inches. We got more down here. This is such a blessing! We have been praying for rain and we sure did get some. I know allot of you got great rain too with this system. Maybe the drought is broken? Here is the 24 hr rainfall from Monday am, Tuesday am, and this morning.

Wonderful news; hopefully the rain you're getting is a moderate rain so it has a chance to soak into the ground instead of running off.

I think we got something like 8-9" in West-central TN, while Nashville reported only about 2.5". Apparently the front went between here and Nashville heading to the NE. Creek up some, but falling. Spring run near trailer only came up a bit. Tells me most of it soaked in. Spoke to a friend who said his farm pond was down about 2 1/2'. It is now running out the overflow. This guy is running some purebred Romanolas on a large field of corn stubble on the other area of my farm. Two waterholes there. One was dry, other had about a foot of ground water. Both are now flowing out.

Not sure this is a 'drought breaker', but sure puts us in good position going into winter.

Yer so lucky. Here in south-central TN, I got just 1.25" out of all of it, as of this morning. I was very disappointed. This won't change a thing, as far as the drought here. No creeks running here, and the pond levels are unchanged, still historically low. Sigh.

I KNOW, I KNOW! Yeah! We finally have rain too, here in the Lexington area. My chickens are wet and mad but the ducks and geese are in heaven. Yesterday I was walking out in the field to bring in my mare and it was so wet and slippery I fell flat on my back. Out there in the mud all alone, I just laughed my butt off. I was so happy to have rain, I didn't care if I was covered in mud and wet to the bone! Take care all. Mary.

Don't despair, we got poured on here in AR last 2 days and expect drizzle through Friday when this system is supposed to move North East, so some of you in TN may get it this weekend!

Northeast from Arkansas misses me. But thanks for the good thoughts! 30% tonight, then partly cloudy rest of the week here.

Yes it is sooo beautiful! Still raining today, drizzle to sprinkles. We are just a tad right of the last O in Owensboro on the map, so we have been in the yellow or brown every day, 4, 5 or 6 inches. I dug down over a foot with the shovel this morning and it was wet all the way down. We have a lake in the back pasture where the sink hole is. The lake will go away after a couple days, always does. I hope it's not too late to bring our pastures back. They should come in again if it warms up just a tad. I have the cook stove going, it feels good and warm. I pray ALL of you get some good rain!
