Fall/Winter Arrived This Morning

BRRRRRR - South Central Texas got the first Northern BLAST of Fall this morning. 1 1/2 inches of rain (I doubt we will make the headline news like the East Coast) and temperatures in the low 40's after a day in the low 80's yesterday. Quite a shock. My arthritis is going nuts, not to mention the bones in rebuilt legs, etc.

Sorry about your bones. I guess I am just a little north and east of you, in Central Texas. We are expecting a high in the fifties today, but with the wind roaring and rain in the air, it sure felt different doing barn chores this morning. I told myself that I can stay in (most) of the rest of the day, and tomorrow will be nicer.

The cold front hit San Antonio area about 5am....gusty winds still...it's 11am. A nice change from 90 yesterday here. Sorry about your arthritis. I'm going to enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts....predicted to be back in the 80's by Friday.

Well, they keep saying we're to finally get an inch of rain today and 2 inches tonight, but so far we have gotten a sprinkle. I have been lied to so many times in this drought, I'll believe it when I see it in the rain gauge. Even with the maybe 3-4 inches we are EXPECTED to get over the next 4 days, we'll still be dry as a bone as far as pond levels and groundwater. But it would be a start -- if it actually falls.

Pretty cool here, and windy, but not alot of rain. Fall has definitely blown in and announced it's entry.

rain here

Today was the first day I haven't run the AC in my car - in fact, I actually had the vent on warm. Much cooler and rain all day. Jim, you need to move west a bit. We are so glad to see the rain. I hope the grass grows so much that I have to cut it every three days for a month!

Yep. Fall fell onto our farm this morning, or late last night. BRRRRR! I was shivering this morning. My DH on the other hand was unusually chipper. He LOVES the cold weather. I think the big hogs are relieved that the summer might FINALLY be over. Change in weather means that there's work to be done, though. Need to put the walls back up on the cattle shed; I had taken most of them down to allow for any breeze to cool them this summer.

Oooooh, they have now dropped our PP to 70%, with 80% tomorrow. It was near 100% and 90%. (humming to self)

Well, we did get 1.1" of rain last night, but the temps here are not set to fall like others have seen. Still low 70s during the day and around 50 at night. Hope we get more rain today...I will take all I can get in this drought!
