Wood Heat

My husband has COPD & Emphysema. Is there any type of wood heating stove that we could possibly use that wouldn't let any smoke into the house causing him to have problems with his breathing? Thank you.

Out door wood boiler.

But you will have to feed it. Or he will breathe it feeding it.
The initial investment is terribly expensive. Take many years to pay it back.

We have a fireplace insert and my husband has asthma. We get very little smoke in the house. Maybe a little whenever we're starting a fire and possibly reloading. We try to remember to crack a door at these times. It helps the smoke go up the chimney.

I'm a hair trigger asthmatic. I heat my whole whose on wood.

if the stove is huffing smoke in your face, you have a problem with the stove.

I have severe copd and we heat with wood and coal without any problems. You just have to learn how to keep smoke down to a minimum. As stated above if you are getting a lot of smoke in there is a problem with the heater. Believe it or not but if I let it smoke when lighting it it bothers dw more than me. We also have a propane unvented heater for back and it doesn't bother me but my mil has natural gas and it really gets to me. Also nat gas cook stove run me out of the house. Good luck with your heater. Sam

As long as you have a properly vented stove pipe and a good seal on your stove door, there wont be the slightest smell of smoke in the house. We have never had a smell of smoke in the house.
