Bath County Virginia-anyone live there??

We are considering a move from North Ga. to this area of Virginia. Can anyone tell me about the people and the schools?

Bath County's Services Page:

http://www.bathcountyva.org/services.htm

City Data's site for Bath Co:

VaGen's site:

Bath is fairly rural, main highway is U.S. 220. Largest nearby city is Harrisonburg VA. There's a paper mill at Covington that's the nearest large employer. Bath County has a small local hospital, others nearby are Allegheny Regional outside Covington VA; Rockingham Memorial in Harrisonburg VA; Stonewall Jackson in Lexington VA; Roanoke Memorial in Roanoke, VA and Lewis-Gale in Salem VA.

There is a VA Medical Center in Salem VA.

You're welcome, Angie.

You might also want to look at Highland County, which is nearby.

I love Highland County! There is a road just west of Monterey off 250 that was listed as one of the most beautiful drives in America. The little road runs between 250 and Bluegrass, VA., which is a tiny village. I am a WNC gal from head to toe... but would leave in a heartbeat if I could live in Monterey! Got married in Monterey. They hav the best maple everything in Monterey. And if you ar going to be in Bath County, you must go to Warm Springs. Same buildings etc.. that George and Martha Washington used. You will fel great after an hour soaking up to your nose in those springs. Very deep and bubbly! Have a good time..
Someone here recently took a motorcycle tour of the area, but I can't remember who...
