An eating Zroom? - Homesteading Questions
This is about the size of a softball perhaps a bit bigger Is this the eating kind? or should I hurl it far far away?

Looks like a puffball to me. They're good eating, sliced and sautee in butter. Slice it in half, if it is pure white inside, than it's okay to eat. If starting to turn brown, chuck it!

looks like a puffball to me. never seen an amanita get that big. if you see a cap in there when you cut it open, toss it out though. my mom found one as big as a volleyball the other summer.

She found a puffball or amanita that size? Around here I see these things basket ball size and larger some years ,this has been a dry fall though so just the little ones this year.

I agree...puffball. I can't agree with being good though. I fried one up last year and it was like eating sugar-free marshmellows. No taste at all.
