Is the seat locked?
Some backhoes have a seat interlock.
Brake unlocked? Outriggers fully raised?
All backhoe controls off or in neutral position?

DH was using his backhoe the other day and it wouldn't go forward or into reverse. He didn't know what happened. He said there are a couple panels on the side of it that have switches and that one of them could have jarred loose a bit. Anyway he shut it off and came to the house and was here for about four hrs and went back later to the backhoe and was going to mess around with it and see if he could get it to go. He started it up and said it went right into gear and it has been working fine ever since. He doesn't have any idea what caused it.

Sorry for the rant, but this is like saying "my car won't start". Not nearly enough details.

1. your title is very funny, sorry, but one little letter can make such a difference.... Your backhole won't go forward, but does go reverse...... Thanks for the smile.

2. Could you at least give a brand & model so folks can help you out? Don't know if this is some worn out 1950's deal that we look for popped out shifter fork; or a 2004 all electrics control/ safety interlocked model that we look for a blown fuse...... You gotta help us a little to get help!

Yea I had to go to the library to get on the internet because when I'm in Tn. I don't have Internet or even a computer for that matter and they were closing in 15 minutes, so I was in a bit of a hurry.(the backhole is ok but the backhoe is broken) I tried to go back and change title but it woudn't let me
