ugly black sticky crud
Howdy All

Need some help have been helping redo a room and in one corner on the brick is "creisode black junk fron the chimney. Was wondering if there is a way to remove. It has been here for many years. thx for your help.

Try a product called Goo Gone. Automotive or hardware stores.

Be sure to find and eliminate the source of the crud too, could be a hazard. My insurance company looked at all that kind of thing.

Yup you need a chimney liner if that chimney is still used, its a fire hazzard. Where in Ont. are you?
