Help with Sun Tea Jar

I just bought two new sun tea jars. They look like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Jarden-Home-Br...1589748&sr=8-1

BOTH of them are leaking! As far as I can tell, they don't leak at room temperature but only after they are in the frig overnight. It's getting a little messy.

I think they are older and the rubber in the spigot is shrinking in the cold.

Any ideas on how to fix them? I am going to try to get a refund but I'd rather have a sun tea pitcher that works!

thanks,

I bought one at Goodwill and it leaked all over the fridge. My husband finally glued the spigot some how and I only pour out of the top now. I think he filled the spigot outlet with epoxy or glue.

Use silicone sealer if you decide to fix them.

Personally, I just use a glass gallon jar. Nothing to get slimey with old tea remnants. How do you clean the inside of those little spigots??

I was able to tighten mine by turning the nut inside the jar that held the spigot in.

If you go the sealer route just make sure it's a none toxic one.
