What to plant?
I have an approx. 5 x 5 area at the front corner of my house. Right now I have about 4 huge yew plants in there that I want to rip up. The area is facing the east, but doesn't get much sun because of a bradford pear tree blocking it. It's sheltered from the north because of the porch and the west because of the house. It gets minimal south sun. I want something that will be deciduous as I hate for everything to be bare during the winter. I know I can plant an evergreen, but I was looking for some other ideas. I need something that will be between the height of 4 - 10 foot. Any ideas of what you'd plant. BTW, in front of the yews are a few small boxwoods and some lavender that can be moved also, if need be.
