insurance for log house

I am having difficulty finding homeowners' insurance because I own a log house. Actually I have the house and a medium size barn that I need to insure plus 4 vehicles (don't ask). Any suggestions?

Thanks

Good luck! My sister owns a log house and they have always had trouble finding insurance. If you'd like, next time I talk to her I can ask who they're with right now....

We have one. Had it insured thru Farm Bureau, dropped them and now have it through State Farm.

Our log cabin is thru State Farm as well. I asked around at a number of agencies before finding one that would insure a log home. Allstate said they'd insure if it was new or less than 10 years old.

We are with State Farm have been since 1999 on a 1 1/2 story loghome. Our son's loghome also is with State Farm. If your insurance agent can not find any loghomes for comps they usually use a cedar or wood sided home of same size. Glenn

our builders risk insurance on the log home we are building is through State Farm. The agent told me there would be no problem converting it to a homeowners policy when we are finished building.

We have ours insured through Shelter Insurance - along with our vehicles - no problems - a little pricey though.

I have mine through Eerie. Their auto premiums were the best I could find, so I just assumed coverage on the house would be decent. I don't have much to compare it with around here.
