Need help w/ 12 gage pump gun

Ok, Houston we have a problem. DH (note not mad and not making fun of him but) once again he tried to clean his shot gun. Not a great idea for a guy with memory problems. Well, he has it back together and he has an extra part now.

Can some one lead me to how to do it right?

He only has one extra part but I am sure if I attempt it I will have more extra parts than him.

The Mfg's Web site should have the Drawings showing how it goes together. Or just Ask A gun smith for A Exploded Veiw drawing.

There is nothing to a pump gun....the tube chamber has a cap on the end and behind that is a large spring.... you open the chamber, remove the cap and spring and the barrel sides off....they go back together the same way.... the only thing I can think of would be that some guns have a small dowel in the tube that serves as a round inhibitor....all it does is take up space so that only three rounds can be loaded instead of five.... If he is dismantling it any more than that to clean it he shouldn't be.

Thanks to all. Dh is a great man and he used to be able to do so many things. We just found out the real reason for his memory issues. 3 weeks ago he had a brain scan (3 different types) he has a brain anerizum. So, we laugh about things now most of the time--but there are times for tears too.

I got the manuel and it is down loading now.
