Heads up. History of Hillbillies on THC Sunday 8pm

Sunday the 23rd at 8pm pst I'm told will be the history of hillbillies, hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus.

A chance to see some of the original homesteaders...

shaycool,
They will be talking about people like me.
Hillbilly is often used as an insult but I have always liked the name because it only applies to low range mountain people like folks from the Appalations, Blue ridge, Boston and Ozark mountains and such. Makes us stand out. I am proud to be born and raised an Ozark Mountain hillbilly-ette!
By the way, I just retired from 38 years in banking.
I can even count with my shoes on most of the time. LOL!

Corky, are you highly edgumucated, or you just don't have to count too high? I've always aspired to be a hillbillianite. :baby04:

all my life

I thought Hillbillies were in Arkansas. When my DH and I moved to Iowa, imagine my surprise to learn that they thought Mo-ians were the ones who didn't wear shoes.....

That is funny because I don't wear shoes in the Summer when I am at home either unless I am working in the barn area or in the woods.
I keep shoes on the porch to step into.
I like thos backless sneakers for that reason.
I also have a pair of rubber muck shoes made that way.
Got them at the feed store. I do wear them to muck.
I am barefoot right now.

Corky: Congratulations on your retirement, where you live, and being a hillbilly-ette, sounds like a great lifestyle.

Well, I do have my hair fixed like that right now and have no shoes on but hopefully without the blonde brain. Also you can add a few(aaahumm) years.

Thanks! I am very glad to be retired so I can spend more time on my piece of Heaven.

That is interesting about Ellie May but even though we share the same Birthday we do not share the same Birthdate. She is 10 years older than me.

We watched it, it was really good. My mom's was a hillbilly family in the hills above Charleston, WV. In all her life, she never got a drivers license. My big brother was a stock car racer way back when. Steve's family is the McCoys from Eastern KY. We joke that we are probably related somehow. Only the KY-WV line separated our grandparents. Ya never know.
