Anyone have any puff balls growing in their yard?

Usually this time of year we'll have big white puffballs growing everywhere in our yard. But we don't have a one yet this year. Makes me wonder if that very late freeze we had back in April killed the mushroom sporse out too? Anyone else down around here in Oklahoma found any puff balls yet?

I have been looking for them for a few weeks but haven't even found any old ones. I guess it's still just a bit early. I'm wanting something different to eat. I always look forward to eating the puff balls and then looking for corral mushrooms and after them the lions main.
Guess we haft to keep looking.

just a reminder to those who are not very experienced with mushrooms...

destroying angel amanita looks very much like a small puffball in it's early stages of growth. be sure to cut them vertically, and if you see what looks like a mushroom inside, toss it out. puffballs are what they appear to be on the outside. the amanita looks like a mushroom inside an egg...sort of. destroying angels are not forgiving and can kill you.

Hillbillybob, I found some corals the other day when I was out squirrel hunting. For some reason they were small and dry. Why, I don't know as we have been having some very occasional rain here.

Things just seem weird around here anymore! Seems ever since Hurrican Katrina hit (2 yrs.ago)and sent major rain up this way we have really been having some weird weather and growing patterns.
