????? little black beetles

suddenly my kitchen is full of tiny black beetles. they arent roaches, they don't seem to be able to fly and they are less than a fourth inch long. they look like the little black bugs that you sometimes find on ears of corn but I haven't had any fresh corn in the house in more than a month. any body got any ideas what they are.

If you only have them in your kitchen they are probably weevils of some kind. Go look through your kitchen cupboards or pantry and see if you have them in your dry goods, flour, cereals, etc.

ohhh, ky,
i had this happen to me a couple of years ago. they were from a bag of pinto beans. look on the bright side, though. you're kitchen will be totally organized when you're through cleaning them out and checking all your stuff.

since then, i leave nothing in bags or boxes. beans and rice and grains for breadbaking go into the freezer for a couple of weeks to kill the "nasties" and then the food is put in mason jars and vacuum sealed. haven't had a problem since.

finally got the little buggers cleared out LOL they were comiing from a box of bran flakes that had gotten pushed back to the back of the cabinate and forgot about. I put almost everythig in the freezer for a while but I guess I missed the cereal somehow. glad thats solved. bugs in my kitchen just give me the heebie jeebies LOL
