Let's See Some Pictures of Your Place - PART TWO -
Continued from the original thread. Please continue here so that the thread doesn't take so long to load (picture heavy) for those on dial up and slow connections. Thanks...
My pics are coming.....

This page will take just as long to load after a few people have posted pictures here. The length of time it takes to load is dependent on the number of photos on a single page of a thread, not the number of photos on the entire thread.

Chris, there are many threads on posting photos. Just go to "search" on the top bar thing and you'll get a whole bunch.

Some of the fields around the house -that's the duckhouse, not our house
The year we bought - prior to the new outbuilding
this summer - that's the new outbuilding - still under construction
Why the building is still under construction - cordwood walls

Travlnusa, I'm familiar now with roof styles such as skillion, hip, monitor, and gambrel, but is there a name for the type of curved roof in the centre section of the large outbuiling, (between the silos and the trough)?

Me and the folks I know just simply call this style of a barn a "Stantion Barn." I'm not sure if there is a special name for the roof style. The roof was constructed like that to allow a large second story to store hay in.

The barn section on the right was built in the early 1900s, the middle was in the 50s' and the section on the left was added in the 70's.

I had a friend of mine from the city over while I was looking over the pictures and they were looking over my shoulder and they asked me what those big round things were growing in the field? LOL I about doubled over in a fit of laughter. I explained to them that hay grows in big round balls like tumbleweeds in wide open fields and she said oh i didnt know that.
needless to say i had a bit of fun with that one.

My place
I keep forgetting to take photos of the homestead! LOL Anyway, I have on on my computer that I took a while back. It hasn't changed much except the yard it all torn up where they put in the water lines when we got the well.
Here goes.... (remember those magic words.... "paid for")

I currently live in town and expect to for a few more years since we just built a new home. My goal is to eventually build a small place on the 40 acres I bought in central Idaho. Here are some pics of my place. It is just a big old piece of sagebrush right now. I managed to pay the land off but cannot afford to do anything else at the moment.
Two sides of the property border BLM/National forest. It looks at the highest peak in Idaho, Mount Borah at 12,600 and change.

From this last June. The front view is the Lost River Range. The rolling hill is what will basically be the "backyard" view.
