I have never owned cowboy boots. I have always owned lace up redwing workboots. They have been durable, and withstand scrapes, and scuffs in a welding shop, and maure from the farm.

What are the benefits of cowbow boots?

Wolverine boots are the best. I never could find a pair of redwing to fit properly.

I have purchased multiple pairs of work boots {but no Cowboy boots} from Sierratradingpost. I am always more than satisfied with my purchases. If not they have a liberal return policy.

Personally I find that the fit is often better than a work boot, they look better, and are most often lighter in weight so that you don't have to pack so much around if you do much walking.

I typically use boots for dress and then eventually turn them into every day boots so I prefer boots that look nicer than just a work boot. The work boots I currently have looked pretty decent from the get go but a steel toed ones and I get weary dragging them around when doing a lot of walking--and I often do.

When I was a letter carrier for the USPS I tried a pair of Rocky brand shoes because they were light in weight. I never went back to the heavier shoes of other brands. When walking 9 miles a day you can tell a tremendous difference in weight/comfort/ease of walking.

My wife chews me out because I am so adamently against asthetics, lol, but I can understand a good fit, and a person's need, or actually want for a lighter boot.

thanks for the info

I own a pair of elephant hide boots. Never really liked them but they sure do last. Mine are about 8-10 years old and still look the same as they did when I bought them but I don't wear them as much as I do some others.
