Aiken, MN Gun Auction

Anyone else going to be there later this morning?

I will be there with a couple of family members.
DS (30 something) is almost 7 feet tall and heavy set.

If you see someone fitting his description ask him where his Mom is.

Or, perhaps you'll be at the Deerwood festival.
I may get there too, but it would be more difficult to find me at that gathering.

Otherwise Hillman, MN at 6 p.m.----Brothers Porky Pine Bar.
That may be too far to the south-------getting closer to the "tinknal" neighborhood.

YA know, we've been to the Deerwood festival several times in the past and weren't planning on going today on accounta the rain. I wish I knew what time you were gonna be there. Last year I spent most of my time at the Legion's beer garden listening to Catus Wille and Boxcar Bob while WIHH shopped the arts & crafts booths.

And yes, we know all about the sporting goods store in Aitkin that is having a going out of business auction...but passed on it. We don't need any new guns or ammo. We are planning on going to another 300 (used) gun and antique auction a week from Sunday in Palisades. They look to have some nice 100 yo (+/-) Winchesters at the auction next week.

Who knows...maybe we will go to Deerwood if the weather turns better. I assume if you're going to the auction, you won't be in Deerwood to later this afternoon. Look for us if the weather breaks.

Where does Tinkal live?

WIHH seems to remember a person that might fit the description of your son. Ask him if he was at a Reinhardt gun auction near Palisades back in May.

I suspect my DS would have been at that gun auction last May.
I'll ask him when he gets back home.

The plans have been changing all day.......I've got 5 other people here who's whims are being considered and re-structured.

40 miles of eating dust on the ATV paths yesterday and a very long, late night movie followed by a sleepless night left me with little gumption today.

Dh and I drove to Aitkin and were at the auction for a while and then neaded back to Garrison.

Then he and DD and her hubby decided to take out the AtV's while DIL went back to the Aitkin auction.

After 20 minutes time the 3 ATV'ers were back because SIL rolled his ATV --- throwing him across/into a barbed wire fence with the BIG ATV landing on top of him.

So I just finished reviving my nursing skills and getting him patched up.

Probably could use a couple of stitches but how do you adequately sew up a barbed wire tear?

Made a couple homemade steri strips for the face and leg and then he refused to let me check out the "other" areas!

Anyway--------I wonder if any of them still plan on ATV-ing the 30 miles to the Porky Pine tonight.

That visiting Crow Wing County always makes for memorable happenings.

"tinknal" lives in the Milaca area, according to past posts by him.

Yes, he was at the Palisades auction last spring.
Says he bought a gun there.
(Were you the seller?)

He bought another one at today's auction.

Just got done adding some super glue to SIL's oozing cut from this morning's connection with barbed wire fence.

Well, then he's a biggo boy! WIHH actually stood next to him for a while when they were selling a full body grizzly bear mount at the spring auction. WIHH seems to remember that he was wearing camo or cargo pants and possibly a camo shirt.....small world!

No, I was not selling any guns at that auction....sure would have been nice to have been able to justify the price of several of them that I had my eye on. Well, we'll keep are eyes open for him next Sunday. Is he married to the dil who works at Walgreens?

That boy has worn Camo since LONG before Camo was the style.
Except for his height, people wouldn't recognize him on the few occasions he needs to wear "regular" clothes.

Yes---his wife is the gal at Walgreens.
I think she is about 5' 2"!
She's a good foot and a half shorter than he is.

And HE would be terribly annoyed with me if he knew I was talking about him at HT.

I don't know if he'll make it to the next gun auction..............He usually needs to work every other weekend.
