Red face Attn: Washington State residents

My son moved to Seattle recently and I will go visit him Aug 24th, I'm wanting to spend a couple of days with him then catch one of the ferry's to go to some of the Alaska inlets. I've not traveled much in my life and am not sure where to go or what to do, can someone from this area help me out a bit, I have the website to the ferry but have no idea where I need to go.
Thank You
Calico

I live here in Alaska.
Bellingham to ? Your choice
Bellingham is like the hub port and you can get anywhere with a transfer that the line goes.

Who needs a room (berth) when a simple pop up tent and a sleeping bag will do
Hints.
Backpacks not lugages
Pack a few large garbage bags. (rain gear, trash, slide sleeping bag in and keep the wind out and rain. Its rainy now

pm me for help

I used to live in that area. One of the things I loved seeing was "Old Seattle" that is now underground. They told a story about a horse that was killed when it fell from the road to the sidewalk, lots of interesting things to do in and around Seattle. I also liked dining at the top of the space needle. It turns as you dine so you can see many different views during supper.

Sorry I don't have any info about the ferry's. If you stop by a tourist center they should have all the info you need.

From Seattle you can take Amtrack from downtown. It takes you to Bellingham. The Amtrack station and the ferry termimal are both in the same area. The Port of Bellingham site has the info.

Are you real sure you don't mean ferry workers? Eh, I would prefer them if it were me.

While in the area---

While in the area you may wish to visit Butchart Gardens if you enjoy plants. It is at Victoria, B.C. Canada which is also great to visit.

Have you ever seen whales? You may want to go see some while in the area. Some attractions will outfit you with a pager and let you enjoy other activities until they spot some and page you. You then have X number of minutes to get to and onto their whale watching boat. They guarantee that you will see whales or no payment is required. Costly however.

Pike Place Market is celebrating 100 years of business this year so if you can be sure to take in the market there in Seattle. It is often shown in movies which makes it even more memorable.

Sorry that I can't help you with your actual questions.
