I assume the article was about the man in BC that choked a cougar to save a boy?

If it is I think that the whole story is utter fiction. I cannot see it happening as described. Sorry, I think he's lying.

its totally believable as he did not kill it with his bare hands but fight it off. heck that old lady in california beat that cougar off her husband with a stick!

No clue how you could say that.
It was just a few years ago when 2 women were jogging I think out in Ca. A panther attacked one of them and the other played tug of war with the cat for her for a while until the cat run off.
Panthers are known for not wanting to fight more then one thing at a time. They will run from a pack of dogs or even 2 dogs, But have been known to stand a fight one on one with them. Most times when humans are attacked they are alone. In the case I just talked about the one woman had fallen back a little so the cat might have thought the other was alone.
