Water Pump Question

A puppy and a water pump's exposed wires are a bad combination. Ask me how I know! Anyhow, here's the question.

The water pump for the house is in the back yard, and sticks up about a foot and a half. How can I properly cover/enclose/whatever the pump so that said pup does not chew through the wires again, causing dh to use his "expanded" vocabulary, without causing problems for the pump? I can post pics if needed. TIA>

A "well house" is common out here. Usually no bigger than necessary and just built out of wood. Put a handle on each side and a beefy guy or maybe two can lift it off when necessary.

Trash can? Barrel? "Dog house"? set some bales of hay around it? wire fence out of chicken wire? or woven wire?

Do I need to worry about condensation or anything building up inside whatever I put over it? It's small enough that a 5gallon bucket with a cinder block on top would do, but I don't want to have to replace the pump unnecessarily. I thought about a cutesy wishing well type thing, but I don't know what conditions the pump needs to function properly. Any other place I've lived, the pump was inside the house.

ETA: Anything I do will have to be sturdier than fencing. Teddy's a strong boy
