How awesome!! I really hope to be there next year!

It is great to put faces with the names. For some reason I KNEW Pony was a redhead! (so am I)

Are there any pics of the demonstrations?

Thanks for posting my grimacing pic...

Oh, well, despite the look on my face, a good time was had by me -- and I hope everyone else too!

It was certainly a bit rainy on Saturday, and I was disappointed because we could not try out the solar cooker. Things looked like they may have been a little more promising on Sunday, but it was still overcast. BUT I was talking to a local visitor to Muller's Farm, and she told me that solar ovens can indeed be used on overcast days, it just takes more time to cook things.

Too late to try anything on Sunday, though, as the dish I was planning to make in the solar cooker was on the fire that Paul started and Nick kept stoked. I was supposed to keep an eye on on the food which did get a little burnt -- but we called it Cajun and it was good.

What a great time with great folks. I was SO happy to finally meet Madame, Clover and her DD, Nduetime, all the Daves, RocknB and family, and also to visit with my adopted mom Kaeko and RCrewofmany's family again.

THANK YOU CYNDI AND PAUL!!!

(and if I forgot anyone else, I am sorry. There were so many wonderful folks there, and I'm miserable at names..)

Pony!

Cyndi, I came home and told dh that I brought home some sheep, and he immediately began scanning the back of the car for their heads, lol. He was very pleased to find that the sheep was in the form of fleece We are not allowed to mention pigeons any more, though.

They remind me of pretty teacups on their shelves.

CloverBud,
You aughta post those "Fleece - I haz one" pics on the fiber forum!!!

How did DH react when you told him you had a 'sheep' in the back of the truck???

What?!?!? no discussion of pigeons??? Did you mention that Amazin' G needs some draft horses??? (or at least a platypus?)

I DID mention the drafts, but he's a wise man and saw through my ploy. Perhaps if I told him we were getting a cow or bunnies. Maybe I'll just mention I'm going to the sale barn...we know how those trips turn out! I think I just may brush up on my carpentry skills whilst he's at work. "No, really, Dear, it's a chicken coop! Honest!"

Duke (and my farmcollie Aggie) are the reasons I have to keep my fiber room door closed. March has them believing they MUST roll in the fleece.

Oooh! You goin' to the sale barn in Channa?

Gotta get to work on those rabbit cages. It just took me an hour to move a gi-normous stack of landscaping timbers (I used a wheelbarrow, so no one scold me!) to make room for the CJ8 body, to make room for the garden sink, to make room for the rabbit cages. LOL!

But hey! Cyndi! Now I'm thinking that I should take the NZs, because the other ones may be too cute to eat... Nah. J/K! I'd have nightmares about rabbits with red, glow-in-the-dark eyes, coming back to exact their revenge upon me!

Pony!

Pony, Chana's too scary (can you say 'Deliverance'?) and it's on a work day. Pecatonica has a horse auction every 1st & 3rd Wed night, and sometimes on a weekend. That's where I got the horses and goats. It should be enough to frighten dh into a few tiny pigeons!

Hey, spinners new and old - did ya know there's a fiber fair in Jefferson County (WI) in early September?

It was a terrific get-together. I only made it for a day, but what a wonderful day. I'll be back next year for the whole weekend, that's for sure!

These folks are wonderful!
