Sweet Sweet Rain!

We have seen several weeks of bone dry weather here in west central Kentucky but we're finally getting some relief this evening.

I hope I never again take for granted the sweet smell of a Summer's rain. The breeze has returned cool and crisp. All nature seems to have come to life: The dusk sky has seen a return of the lightning bugs, the frogs are out, and the cotton tails are about.

Yes, the rain has returned a sense of peace to my heart tonight. I don't know how long it will last but if it is only for a fleeting moment then it is moment that I will savor.

Good Night and God Bless ...

Good for you.

I wish we could have been sending you some of our 'extra' this year.

Now I never complain about what God sends as somehow we manage to make do, but I would have been more than willing to share.

Good On ya!

Ain't it Great??
Rain, when you Really need it sure can make you Happy.

We were about 6 to 8 inches down for the year.
We got 1 inch Thursday. another half inch Friday.
And last night we got 2 3/4 inch in two hours.
That's a total of 4 1/4 inch in 3 days.

I had to mop some up last night that ran under the front door.
Kinda too much at once.
That's alright, We'll take it.

The Pond still isn't up to where it's full.
It is way down
We're happy now tho.

Kentuckysteader-glad you got some of that sweet rain!!! Well, it dry dry dry here. We got a 10 minute storm last week. For the past 2 months, we have not received a good rain. There has been rain around some parts of the area, but it has circled us and missed us. We desperately need rain. Doesn't look like any in the forecast soon. They are predicting 90's for the next few days. I have been watering the vegetable gardens every other day. Take Care.

I am in Kentucky, too. Today, in the eastern part of the state, we had a really big rain come along for about an hour or so. Ironically enough, I had watered the new garden beds and set up the sprinkler to hit the tomato plants, about 30 minutes before the storm came through. Of course this rain isn't going to mean a whole lot if we don't start get more consistency out of Mother Nature. Her 3-month evaluation is due anytime now.

We got some much needed rain, too. My son and I sat out on the front porch, enjoying it and talking and enjoying the breezes that came afterwards that were so cool. I remember thinking this would be a great way to end these 90 degree summer days. It did feel like it brought everything to life.
